The Store

The Wine Cellar was established in November 1994 by Heike and John under the name Home Brewsters. Our first location was a 376 sq ft kiosk inside what Regina knows as the old Superstore building. In July 1996, The Wine Cellar put down roots in Regal Plaza. Today we are located in the Regina Warehouse District and are excited to be a part of the #soulofthecity community! At our in-store winery, we use state of the art bottling and corking equipment. We have two very efficient bottling stations. Each of our two bottle fillers is capable of filling up to 600 bottles per hour. Our winery corker will cork up to 900 bottles per hour. Even our shrink capper is fast, easy and consistent. In our production area, we are the first craft winery in Saskatchewan to use V-vessels in our fermentation process. After fermentation is complete, we use only glass carboys and maintain the highest standard of cleanliness.

Simply come down to our store and have a chat to experience our dedication to the art of making the finest wine.

The Wine Cellar Regina Team

We asked our people two questions - What is your favourite wine kit? and What is your favourite thing about working at The Wine Cellar? The responses are as varied as the personalities! Come on in and meet our friendly and helpful staff...
Sarah

"
My favourite wine is Forza. It hugs my insides and tells me I’m pretty. I love the customers, atmosphere and being able to help anyone who needs it. The Wine Cellar is an all around fun place to work."

Sarah has been with The Wine Cellar since 2014 but it feels like she’s been here forever. She came to us with several years of experience in our industry and is extremely knowledgeable not only about wine, but just about everything in the store. Not only that, she is very energetic and believes in great customer service as much as we do. We literally could not do without her. She’s a true gem.

Alex

"My favourite wines are any big bold reds, like Cabernet Sauvignon, Rosso Fortissimo and Carmenere. I love working at The Wine Cellar because the environment is welcoming and Heike and John appreciate the work I do and show that appreciation. It gives me a lot of job satisfaction."

Alex is our winemaker and has become essential to our success! He is super organized and seriously meticulous about the cleanliness of the production area. He is always willing to help and quick with a smile.
Richard

“My favourite white wine is Winexpert Selection Symphony and my favourite red is Atmosphere New Zealand Pinot Noir. My favourite thing about working at The Wine Cellar is the friendly staff that I work with and making the customers’ wine experience a pleasant one.”

Richard joined The Wine Cellar in December 2016 and has become an invaluable member of our team. He is hardworking and super friendly. He is always ready to help whenever and  wherever it’s needed and does so with a smile.

Ross

"The wine I enjoy most is the one which is opened in the presence of friends and family. I very much enjoy working at The Wine Cellar because of the happy, friendly staff and customers."

Ross joined us in September 2012. We are sure that he knows every single person in Regina, or at least one of their friends or relatives. There is also a good chance that he went to school with them. We love Ross, corny jokes and all. He works hard and is kind, funny and always there to lend a helping hand, whether you are a customer or fellow employee. We are lucky to have him as part of The Wine Cellar family.
Ken

"I found that wine depends on individual taste. My wife and I prefer the red full body wines - Carmenere, Amarone, Valpolicella. It's good to work for a boss who has his mind in the same place as mine (the gutter!), and everyone works well together. Our customers, loyal and new, are all interesting to talk to."

Ken joined us in November 2011 and is now working one day per week. Our customers enjoy his dry sense of humour and he has been known to be a bit of a prankster.
Kevin

“My favourite wine is the CellarCraft Sonoma Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. I enjoy the fun work environment at The Wine Cellar and talking with all the great customers.”

Kevin has been with The Wine Cellar since 2015. He’s super helpful, as well as being super funny. He keeps us laughing whenever he’s in the store. Our customers enjoy him as much as we do. Though his hours are casual, he’s always there when we need him (as long as he’s not on vacation lol).
